Update

Wow! I can't believe it has been almost 2 months since I have posted on here! I am so sorry! I left Haiti about a month and a half ago, and it was so so hard!! I am so thankful that I will be retuning, Lord willing on June 4th, and will be returning home July 19th. I am so excited to be back in such an amazing place and I can't wait to see all the sweet kiddos again!

This is a photo of Jesus' provision spread across my living room floor. (and here's what you can do to help) Let me explain, When I was in Haiti in April it became evident to me that there was a great need for teaching and support for mothers, as well as a need for basic supplies for them to be able to care for their children. The Lord began putting ideas and pieces together for an expectant mother and new mother class where Haitian mothers would be able to learn skills and receive needed items.  summer my dear friend Lauren Haines who is a certified Birth Doula will be teaching the classes. We have a great need for the supplies, but the Lord has already begun to provide! I was able to get 60 onesies for free at our churches FeeBay event this past weekend, but we still need supplies to make this project happen!

Here is what we still need:
94-12 oz containers of powdered formula (about $10 each)
40-short sleeve onesies in sizes 0-3M-12M (about $2 each)
100-bottles of pre-natal vitamins (about $8 for a 6 month supply)
100-simple plastic baby bottles (about $1 each)
Baby carriers/wraps/slings( about $20-$30 each)- we will take as many of these as possible
If you would like to donate there are three ways to do it!
#1 if you want to help and love to shop, feel free to pick up any of the things on this list and then we can figure out a time to connect for me to get them.
#2 if you want to help, but you are not local or you don't have time to go shopping, you can sponsor items and I would be happy to shop for you!
#3 if you have some of these things in new or gently used condition that you would like to pass along, I would be more than happy to take them!
Thank you all for your support, it means so much to me, and I know it will to the sweet mamas we will get to serve as well.

Where God Guides he Always Provides

This trip has been incredible so far! Having the privilege to do life along side such amazing people and kids has done so much good for my heart, I don't even have the right words to describe it. The presence of the Lord is felt so strongly and tangibly when there is nothing to distract you from it. Giving all control over your life to God and letting him completely guide your steps is something that so many people never get to experience. I am so very thankful that I can rely on the joy of the Lord each day. Often the days here can be long and hard, and spiritual darkness is very real here; but above all of that each day I am reminded over and over how great our God is and how much he hears our needs.

Today I listened to a sermon online and in it the pastor said "Where God guides he always provides" and that statement could not be more true for my time here so far. While each of my days here is not always packed full of crazy exciting "missionary work", the quiet moments I have gotten to spend holding a child and silently praying over them as they curl closer into my lap, or getting to read reports and create spreadsheets where I get to see how God has multiplied resources, and is using his people to do it have been some of the moments I treasure the most. I am no more qualified to do this then the next person, but I am so glad God has given me the opportunity to do it.

Thank you all for your love and support, it means the world to me!

Update from Haiti

Well, a lot has happened since my last post. I was not able to leave on February 24th and instead I left on the 12th of March. God was so good and all of my travels went extremely smoothly.

I have spend the last couple of days settling in and getting into a routine balancing the intern/office type responsibilities along with spending time with the kids each day.

It is such a blessing to share each day with these amazing kids, each of their unique stories and personalities are so neat to learn more about each time we interact.

 Some prayer requests:
-For many opportunities to share the gospel
-For me to find more ways to connect with the kids, especially the older ones
-For continued health and strength

Thank you all for the support, it does not go unnoticed!

Unexpected

Sometimes things in life don't go as expected, and the events of these past few days have defiantly been one of those things. I should be sitting in Haiti right now and instead I am still at home. The reason for this is the people of Haiti are protesting and all the roads are shut down, thus, making it impossible to travel from the airport to the area in which I will be serving. All that being said I had to change the date I will be leaving and I will now, Lord willing be flying out February 24th. I ask that you would join me in praying for Haiti and the people that live there. Pray that Gods peace would flood the entire island, and pray for safety and wisdom for missionaries that are there right now. Thank you all for your support and prayers, I truly appreciate them.

12 Days

12 days from today I will be on my way back to Haiti, it still doesn't feel real! I am so excited to be back in a place that I love with some amazing people, I truly can't wait! Please be praying as I still have lots to get ready before leaving! If you would like to donate towards my trip you can use the link on the right side, and it will take you directly to the organization donation site.

So you may be thinking, what will I be doing? The short answer is I am not exactly sure but it will be a mix of many different projects. Including ESL lessons, a craft program, and playing with the kids as well as many office type projects to help with the needs of GVCM and sponsorship of the kids. I will also be able to do some photography and many other things! In order to do all of these projects I need supplies and I need to bring along everything, so if you would be willing to purchase something, you can use the link below and have it sent directly to me. http://a.co/3zQe0UI

I am so thankful for so much support and encouragement as I continue to follow in what God has called me to!! Don't forget to enter your email to get updates when I post!💕

Welcome to my blog! This Crazy Beautiful Broken Life was born from the idea of wanting to be able to share what I am doing and what God is teaching me. For those of you who don't know me, I have recently graduated from high school and will be spending my spring semester and summer serving at an orphanage in Haiti.
I have four adopted siblings, three of whom have special needs. They have given me a heart for the orphan and a love of the world that I would not otherwise have. I am so thankful for my life no matter how crazy it may be. God uses the most broken imperfect people for his glory when they are willing to follow him wherever he leads. I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve and am looking forward to all that is coming!  Don't forget to enter your email on the right hand side so you are notified when I post. Thank you for following along!
